All of the cordless Mosquito Magnet models will flash an error code with the led or digital display to help in troubleshooting the unit. See the Mosquio Magnet website for the led light error codes for your model. The most common error are low battery, no fuel flow and thermistor fault. If your unit is not getting fuel then there will be no "poof" a few seconds after then igniter starts clicking. Most likely the issue is a clogged fuel nozzle. These are easy to replace on the cordless models. See my other post and YouTube video for replacement instructions.
If you do hear a poof and the unit starts to heat up but you get a thermistor fault then the thermistor is probably not working and should be replaced. Only Mosquito Magnet service centers are authorized to sell the thermistors.
Here is the start up sequence:
-Unit switched on and orange led illuminates.
-Top fan starts
-Igniter starts sparking
-Fuel solenoid clicks open
-Fuel starts flowing into the combustion chamber and gets ignited by igniter. Able to hear an audible "poof" when propane ignites.
-Combustion chamber begins to heat up. If you take a 1" mirror and look down the motor exhaust you should see the catalytic turn orange as it begins to heat up.
-As the motor heats up the thermistor resistance decreases. After about 20 minutes the resistance decreases and the unit senses that it is up to operating temperature and the orange led turns green.
-The fan speed increases and start up is complete.
